- Born in 1954 in Ogden, Utah.
- Father of 10 children, all from one wife, Ann Coleman Stewart.
- Raised in the same house in Roy, Utah until he married in 1976.
- Taught elementary school for 29 years: 5 years in fifth grade and the rest in fourth grade.
- Lead an elementary school choir for 28 years at two different schools.
- Taught himself to play the guitar.

- Started singing his own song creations when he was 7 or 8 years old.
- Bought an electric bass guitar at 16 and was in several "garage" bands.
- Played bass in a big-band dance band for 4 years.
- Played electric guitar with a jazz type band made up of all the band directors in Weber School District for about 10 years.
- Plays horn with the Weber State Alumni Band at homecoming football games most years.
- Sings and plays accoustic guitar for ward dinners, family camp outs and pioneer firesides every time he's asked.
